my memorial

is this week's topic for mixed media memoirs ... i decorated this beach rock [measuring approx 5"x8"] shortly after my sister's precious angel sinead went to heaven...when we lived in maine, i made a little memorial in one of my side gardens. & then when we moved, i took my little memorial with us & eventually found another spot in my current garden. i cannot even begin to express the deep sorrow i felt the day or imagine the incredible grief my sister & brother-in-law endured when they made the most difficult decision to let her go... but my little memorial is my way of keeping her precious memory alive...to let her know that she was beloved... & to let her surviving brother {ian} & sister {shioban} know that they have a place to come visit & say hello to their sweet sister, angel 'nead. That is so sweet that you made a memorial...some place her siblings can stop for a moment and stay connected to her life energy.

They look so cute intheir little cars! Do you live near them now?

To my loving sister and all of her beautiful and special bloggin' friends: My heart is filled with happiness as I read this post. I thank you so much for sharing precious pictures of all of my little sweethearts and sending gentle, kind and loving thoughts about the loves of my life. I am so very honored that my sister, Mary Ann (Firstborn), chose to memorialize my Sweet Angel Sinead in this week's MMM. I'm so proud of my little Heavenly Angel Sinead who fought courageously to live and also my surviving Earthly Angels, Ian and Shioban who continue to be blessed and follow God's path! Although, Sinead is no longer with us on our earthly journey, I feel that she is always with us in our thoughts, heart and soul. It's because of loving people like my sister, who continue to keep her spirit alive by not being afraid to remember her and by honoring her with special places in her garden (or in a blog) in whatever state she lives in. It's so hard to let go of someone, especially someone that's a part of you and has a piece of your heart...you never had the chance to watch them grow, to physically love them etc. But what gives me peace is knowing that Sinead is watching over us, protecting and guiding us everyday. Also, that one day, we will all be together as a family. And finally, just the thought that God needed Sinead back in Heaven to help Him create even more miracles also gives me a sense of peace. Each day letting go of the what ifs or the what could bes has lessen the pain but has also helped me grow into a more loving person with deeper faith, courage and the strength to carry on.

So thank you, Reya and all your special bloggin' pals for your kind and sweet thoughtfulness. I'll always treasure this! xoxo Looney.
