check this out!

about a month or so ago, i was exploring the next town over where i came across this wicked cool shop>>>which is owned & operated by this extremely talented folk artist named jean... her shop [guidone & co., 13 west main, evansille, wi} is just an absolute feast for the eyes! she mixes her handcrafted, one-of-a-kind creations along with antiques & repoductions & displays everything so nicely about her beautiful shop! we got into talking about collaging & before you know it i was telling her to become a blogger! she actually took my suggestion to heart & created her very own blog! she's been very busy crafting, running her shop, writing articles for the paper & organizing an upcoming art fair>>>which she has kindly invited me to participate!!!! can i say, wow?!!!!! anyway, because of her activities i just mentioned, she has been sporadically posting {in addition to the fact that her dial-up service is wicked slow!}...but she told me today that she was going to try to post something this is her link so that you can check out her cool art! {she doesn't have a web site yet, but one day she says...she's hoping her blog will nudge her to get a website created in the near future!}... i visited jean today in her shop & she showed me these lovely pea-hens on candlesticks that she calls make-dos >>>a term jean says come from the 1800s that refers to "new uses for old things"...i guess, you can say that it's what nowadays some might call, "repurposing" {or last century, "recycling"}...aren't they just darling? the tail "feathers" are made from scrapbook paper with embroidery...& the little necklaces are "punched" necklaces {she teaches this at her shop}. wow, she sure is a total whiz with paper, scissors & thread! and that's not all she creates, she quilts, makes collages, dolls, lovely vignettes all around her shop... jean's art gallery...more photos of her shop continue on next post...
