herbal dee-lovely!

(click on image to enlarge text) i never thought that lavender was edible...but it is, apparently>>> the dried ones... one of the herbal gals made a bunch for the herb party the other night... it was SO GOOD! she was kind enough to pass out her recipe... so i'm now gonna share it with you. hope you like... there were so many other lovely herbal treats at the party. hmmm, let's see... we had apple-mint tea (yum!), nasturtium blossoms filled with pineapple cream cheese (too pretty to eat!), sage bruschetta rounds, sweet & spicy rosemary walnuts (those were wicked tasty!), shots of some type of brandy infused with carraway seeds & something else (which is fine bec. it burned a HUGE hole in my mouth & i'm not a fan of brandy!) stuffed cherry tomates with basil & sage & basil dip on rice crackers (i could eat that forever!) chris, the gal who graciously gave me her arrangement of phlox, shared that recipe for the basil dip: 8oz softened cream cheese, a bunch of fresh basil leaves minced, the zest of one lemon, a sprinkling of parmesan cheese salt & pepper to taste combine all together & spoon on top of cracker of your choice et voila! instant yumminess! bon appetit!
addendum: i forgot to mention that this is my (late) contribution to five ingredients friday. it's a tad bit more than 5 ingredients, but these two recipes are quick & easy to make.Posted by Picasa

wow I had no idea that 1/2 that stuff was edible!! And TASTY too!
I'd love to see more recipes (HINT) ..................
I bet the lavendar would be a nice before-bed snack for my girls... they need the calming herbs to settle down!
I LOVE Apple-Mint Tea! My mother used to make it! She uses all sorts of herbs and plants in her cooking, but I don't think she's ever used lavendar.... very interesting!!
    TFS!!
